Two full days of walking in the Sahara without the crowds of Merzouga. After the transfer from Marrakech and a night in a comfortable camp at M'Hamid, trek with a nomad guide to Sidi Naji and on to the unspoilt dunes of Erg Zahar, sleeping in mobile bivouacs, before a 4x4 ride back and the return to Marrakech.

Itinerary
- Day 1: Marrakech – M'HamidDeparture from Marrakech by bus or minibus over the High Atlas and along the Draa Valley to M'Hamid El Ghizlane. Dinner and night in a fixed camp with rooms, showers and electricity.
- Day 2: Trek M'Hamid – Sidi NajiAbout 3 hours of walking with your nomad guide through the palm grove to Sidi Naji and its nomad remains. Mobile bivouac set up in the dunes, dinner and campfire.
- Day 3: Trek Sidi Naji – Erg ZaharA longer stage (3-4 hours) across regs and small dunes to Erg Zahar, a wild erg where you are unlikely to meet anyone. Sunset from the dunes and second night in a bivouac.
- Day 4: 4x4 Erg Zahar – M'Hamid – MarrakechPick-up by 4x4 in the dunes, return to M'Hamid and transfer back to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.

Frequently asked questions
How many hours do we walk each day?
About 3 hours on day 2 and 3-4 hours on day 3, at a nomad pace with breaks. Luggage is carried for you.
What is Erg Zahar?
A large field of dunes west of M'Hamid, nicknamed the 'singing dune'. It is reached only on foot or by 4x4, so it stays very quiet.
Can children join?
Yes, families are welcome; the walking pace is adapted and a riding camel can be arranged on request.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. All our departures are private, in small groups of 1 to 8 people, with your own vehicle, driver and local guide. Dates are flexible and the programme can be adapted to your group.
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothes for the day and a few warm layers for the evening, comfortable closed shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sun cream. Blankets are provided, but bring a sleeping bag if you have one for extra comfort.
