4-Day Sahara Camel Trek from M'Hamid: Sidi Naji, Erg Zahar & Aït Ounir
Four days of walking to reach Erg Zahar, one of the wildest dune fields of the M'Hamid desert. From the palm grove to Sidi Naji, across regs to Erg Zahar and back via the tamarisks of Aït Ounir, you sleep at a different site each night in a wild bivouac with your nomad guide and pack camels.

Itinerary
- Day 1: M'Hamid – Sidi NajiWalk from M'Hamid through the palm grove to Sidi Naji. The bivouac is set up together, dinner and an evening around the fire.
- Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg ZaharCross regs and small dunes to reach the great dunes of Erg Zahar. Sunset from the top and night in a bivouac.
- Day 3: Erg Zahar – Aït OunirLeave the erg and walk to Aït Ounir, a tamarisk grove that shelters nomad families. Third night under the stars.
- Day 4: Aït Ounir – M'HamidLast morning of walking back to M'Hamid, arriving in the afternoon.

How many hours do we walk per day?
Roughly 4 to 6 hours at a relaxed pace with a long lunch break in the shade. No technical difficulty.
Can I ride a camel if I get tired?
The camels carry the luggage; a riding camel can be arranged on request.
Are showers available?
No, this is a wild trek with bivouacs at a different site each night. Water is provided for basic washing.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. All our departures are private, in small groups of 1 to 8 people, with your own vehicle, driver and local guide. Dates are flexible and the programme can be adapted to your group.
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothes for the day and a few warm layers for the evening, comfortable closed shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sun cream. Blankets are provided, but bring a sleeping bag if you have one for extra comfort.
